What is a day master?
The day master is the heavenly stem of the day pillar you were born on, and in a BaZi chart it stands for you.
日主 (ri zhu), sometimes 日元 (ri yuan), is the single character a whole reading is organised around. Everything else in a chart is described by how it relates to that stem: what feeds it, what it controls, what controls it. Someone born on a 丙 (bing) day has a yang Fire day master, and that is what people mean when they say they are a Fire person in this tradition.
It is worth being exact about the difference between that and this page. Today's day stem is today's, not yours. It only becomes a day master for the people who happen to have been born on this date.
Finding your own means having a birth date, and, if you were born late in the evening, a birth time as well, because of where the day boundary falls for birth charts.
