Terms of use

Gilsung is published by Pacefyx, Inc. Effective July 2026. Contact: hello@gilsung.app.

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing or using Gilsung, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. At first launch the App asks you to confirm that you accept these Terms; tapping to accept records your agreement.

2. Eligibility and age

You must be at least 16 years old to use Gilsung. By using the App you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that you can form a binding contract. Adults may enter details about family members, including children, for a family or matching reading; the adult who does so is responsible for that use and for having the right to do it.

3. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Gilsung on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and to the terms of the store you obtained the App from. We reserve every right not expressly granted.

This section is the heart of these Terms. Read it.

Gilsung is for reflection. It is not professional advice, and it is not a substitute for the judgement of a qualified professional. Four Pillars of Destiny is a traditional practice, not a science. Readings and chart interpretations are offered to prompt reflection, not to direct your decisions.

Do not rely on Gilsung for, and always consult a qualified professional about, decisions involving:

The App does not know your circumstances and cannot account for them. You are solely responsible for the choices you make. If you act on anything you read in Gilsung, you do so at your own risk.

6. No remedies, no cures, no verdicts

Gilsung does not prescribe, recommend or sell any remedy, talisman, charm, amulet, name change, ritual, offering or other corrective measure, and it does not refer you to anyone who does. It makes no claim that anything in the App can cure, treat, prevent, mitigate or ward off any disease, condition, misfortune or outcome.

Gilsung does not deliver verdicts about people or pairings. A pairing reading shows how the two charts meet and how the reckoning works; the de-moralized ten gods, a weak day master and samjae are shown as what they are in the tradition, with their classical qualifications, never as a sentence passed on anyone. Nothing in the App is a pronouncement that a pairing is auspicious or inauspicious, that a marriage should or should not proceed, or that any person is fortunate or unfortunate. Any such decision is yours alone.

7. Safety; not a crisis service

Gilsung is not a crisis line, a counselling service, or any kind of emergency or support service, and it does not monitor you or contact anyone on your behalf. Nothing in the App is watching for your wellbeing.

If you or someone else may be in danger, contact your local emergency number now. In Korea, call 112 for emergencies or 109 for the suicide and crisis counselling line. In Japan, call 110 for police or 119 for fire and ambulance. In Taiwan, call 110 or 119, or 1925 for the Ministry of Health and Welfare counselling line. In the United States, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call 911. Elsewhere, use your local emergency number.

8. Purchases, prices and refunds

Gilsung has no subscriptions and no wallet. Your own four-pillars chart and its reading, your daily tone, and your year at a glance are free. Some things are optional purchases: pairing readings, keepsakes, and date-selection guidance for the days you want it.

Every purchase is a fixed, named digital item, delivered immediately on your device once the purchase completes. There are no chance mechanics, no mystery items and no prize mechanics. There is no paid consultation of any kind.

Apple, or Google where you obtained the App from Google Play, displays the price in your local storefront currency and, where local law requires it, includes applicable taxes and mandatory charges in the displayed total. We do not add a separate fee of our own.

To request a refund, use the Apple or Google refund route shown on your receipt. If something did not arrive, did not work, or did not match its description, email hello@gilsung.app and we will help.

Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory withdrawal, conformity, warranty, repair, replacement, price-reduction, termination or refund right you have where you live, including any mandatory right under Korea's Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Japan's Consumer Contract Act, and any non-excludable Australian Consumer Law guarantee.

9. Warranty disclaimer

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT IT PRODUCES IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR RELIABLE.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms, even if we were advised of the possibility.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for all claims relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for the App, or five U.S. dollars (USD $5.00) if you paid nothing.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights.

11. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim arising out of your misuse of the App or your breach of these Terms.

12. Intellectual property

Gilsung, its content, design, wordmark and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. The Four Pillars tradition itself belongs to no one; our particular expression of it does. These Terms grant you a licence to use the App, not any ownership of it.

13. The app stores

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, and Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the App. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the App, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, or consumer protection claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Where you obtain the App from Google Play, Google's terms govern that distribution in the same way. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and that you are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list.

14. Changes to the App and these Terms

We may change, suspend or discontinue the App or any feature at any time. We may update these Terms; the current version is posted at gilsung.app/terms.html with its effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state and federal courts located in the State of Wyoming, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Where local consumer law gives you mandatory rights or a mandatory forum, those rights and that forum are preserved.

16. General

If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These Terms, together with the store's own end user licence agreement and the App's privacy policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the App. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. Sections 5 through 13 survive any termination.
