Privacy policy
The short version
Gilsung has no developer server, no account system, no analytics, no advertising and no tracker. It makes no network call to us. Your birth details, four-pillars chart, saved people and readings are created and kept on your phone, and we never collect them. Because there is no copy on our side, we cannot read, search or delete your content. You control the parts that can hold a copy: your own device backup, the app stores, a support email you choose to send, and anything you decide to share.
What Gilsung is
Gilsung calculates and displays Four Pillars of Destiny content, known as BaZi 八字, saju 사주 and Shichuu Suimei 四柱推命: the four pillars, the ten gods, the luck pillars, the annual pillar, pairing readings and date-selection guidance. It is for reflection. It is not professional medical, mental-wellbeing, financial, legal, matrimonial or emergency advice, and it is not a factual prediction. Gilsung prescribes no remedies, talismans, charms or rituals, makes no claim to cure, prevent or guarantee any outcome, and never issues a pass-or-fail verdict on a person or a pairing.
What the app processes, and where
The app processes only what you choose to enter or create. The exact set depends on the features you use. All of it is processed on your device.

A birth time, and details about a proposed pairing, can reveal sensitive subjects about you or another person. Please do not enter anything you would not want kept on your phone, included in a backup, or deliberately shared. An adult who enters details about another person, including a family member, is responsible for having the right to do so.
Where the processing happens
The app calculates charts, stores your content, runs its safety checks and composes your readings on your device. There is no developer account, developer server, cloud model, analytics, advertising, tracker or network model call.
This is a statement about what the developer collects. It does not mean a copy cannot exist elsewhere: a device backup you keep, an operating-system service, an app-store transaction, or a person you share with can each hold a copy. Those are described below.
What we receive
For the content described above, we receive nothing. We hold no server copy, account record, analytics profile or advertising profile.
Support is a separate, voluntary path. Settings opens an email to hello@gilsung.app rather than an in-app form. If you email us, your mail provider gives us your address and whatever you choose to include. The app does not attach your chart or readings to that email.
The app stores
Apple, and Google where Google Play is offered, run their own store, payment, account and support systems. They may process store-account, purchase, receipt, billing, tax, device, fraud and refund information under their own terms and privacy notices. We may receive limited transaction or entitlement information needed to make a purchase available in the app. We do not receive your birth, chart, reading, pairing or keepsake content through the store. See Apple Privacy and Google Privacy. Use the store's own refund route for a store-billed purchase, and you keep any mandatory local consumer rights.
How your readings are made
Your readings are composed on your device from your own chart and a library of writing we prepared and reviewed in advance. Nothing is written while you use the app, and nothing you enter is sent to us or used to train anything. Readings are for reflection, and are not a factual prediction or a professional medical, mental-wellbeing, financial, legal, matrimonial or emergency service.
Keeping, deleting, backups and sharing
Your content stays on your phone until you edit or delete it, use "Start over" or another local deletion control, or delete the app. Those controls remove the app's content and its local derived copies. Local purchase records may be kept so the app can recognise what you own; store purchase records stay with the store.
If you use a device backup, your content may be included in it. A backup is controlled by you and your operating-system or backup provider, not by us. It can still hold a copy after the app is deleted, and restoring it can restore your data. We cannot search, change or erase your backup. To remove data from a backup, manage that backup with your device or backup provider.
Anything you share (a share card, keepsake or export) is user directed. Once you or a recipient shares it elsewhere, we cannot delete that copy. Please share only with people you trust.
Age
Gilsung is for people 16 or older. An adult may enter information about family members, including children, for a pairing or family reading. Please do not enter a child's information unless you are authorised to do so.
Your rights, and how to use them
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to, or receive a copy of your information, to withdraw consent where consent is the basis, and to complain to a regulator. Because Gilsung has no developer backend, the primary way to exercise these rights over app content is on your device:
- View or edit your profile, places, people and readings in the app.
- Use "Start over" or the applicable local delete control to remove the app's content.
- Delete the app, and separately manage any device or backup copies you no longer want.
- Use the store's account, purchase, receipt and refund controls for anything held by Apple or Google.
You may also contact hello@gilsung.app. We will tell you whether we hold the information in your request. If we hold no copy, we will say so and point you to the on-device, store, mail or backup control that can act on it.
Your region
This policy is written to apply wherever Gilsung is offered. Some regions add specific rights and contact routes, which appear in the version shown for your storefront and market:
- Korea. Under the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) you have rights to be informed, to access, correct, delete and suspend the processing of your personal information, and to seek dispute mediation. Gilsung processes your personal information entirely on your own device and we receive none of it, so those rights are exercised through the in-app controls above. For a request or a grievance, write to hello@gilsung.app; we will respond and tell you plainly if the data in question is one we never held.
- Japan. Under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) you may request disclosure, correction, suspension of use or deletion of retained personal data. We retain none: your chart and readings stay on your device and are never transmitted to us, so there is no retained personal data held by the developer to disclose or delete.
- Taiwan, Hong Kong and other Chinese-language storefronts. Local personal-data law gives you rights of access, correction and deletion against a party that collects or holds your data. We collect and hold none of your app content, so those rights are exercised on your device and, for purchases, through the app store.
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland. You have the data-protection rights described above. Since we operate no developer server and receive none of your app content, most rights are exercised on your device or through the app stores. The market version names the responsible party, any representative and your local supervisory authority.
- United States, including California. We do not sell your information, do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and do not use it to profile you for decisions. There is no developer server holding your app content.
- Other regions. Where local law provides additional rights or a complaint authority, the market version of this policy names or links to it. You can complain to your local authority even though we hold no copy of your app content.
Contact and emergencies
For a privacy question, email hello@gilsung.app. Please do not use this address to report an immediate emergency. The app does not monitor users or contact emergency services for them. If someone is in immediate danger, use your local emergency number.
